Ahmedabad Police Arrested Danish Qureshi: Ahmedabad Police has arrested Danish Qureshi, former AIMIM leader. Danish Qureshi has been accused of making indecent remarks inciting religious sentiments. Ahmedabad Police has arrested him after making inflammatory remarks on social media. A case has been registered against Danish Qureshi under several sections for hurting religious sentiments.
Police have taken action by registering an FIR against Danish Qureshi under sections 153A, 295A of the IT Act and IPC. Many Hindu organizations including VHP had protested and demanded action against Qureshi. It is being told that Danish Qureshi had made objectionable remarks about the Shivling found in the Gyanvapi Mosque premises. After which the cyber cell of Ahmedabad Police arrested him.

Danish Qureshi had shared an objectionable post regarding Shivling on social media. Angered by this, a complaint was lodged against him on behalf of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and police action was demanded against him. Danish Qureshi has been arrested by the police from his house itself.

JM Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime, told in a conversation with the media that the objectionable post was made from a Twitter handle named Danish Qureshi. The content of the tweet hurt the sentiments of the majority community and hence the team started a technical search for the Twitter handler. The technical team of the police tracked down Danish Qureshi from Shahpur. Through the post, Qureshi had made indecent remarks raising questions about the Shivling found in Gyanvapi Masjid located in Varanasi, UP.
