Amarnath Yatra: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting in New Delhi today to review the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra. In the meeting, the Union Home Minister gave clear instructions to the intelligence and security chiefs that all the central paramilitary forces required for the Amarnath Yatra should be deployed during the Yatra. Also, give such facilities so that the passengers do not have to face any kind of trouble. This meeting took place in two phases.

The meeting was attended by Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and senior officers of various Ministries and Departments of the Central Government. The Home Minister also held a long meeting regarding the security of the Amarnath Yatra and the necessary facilities for the pilgrims. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary and Director of Information Bureau, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and senior officers of security agencies also participated in this.

Warned security and intelligence agencies

During the security meeting, the possible threats to the Amarnath Yatra and the imports that have come before the intelligence agencies so far were also reviewed. It was also noted in the meeting that terrorists can also use tunnel for infiltration. In the meeting, the Union Home Minister clearly cautioned the security and intelligence agencies to make a plan to deal with every possible threat, as well as to call for whatever central force is needed to run the Amarnath Yatra safely.

The Union Home Minister said that it is the priority of the Modi government that the pilgrims visiting the Amarnath Yatra should have easy darshan and they should not face any problem. Shah directed to make adequate arrangements for all essential facilities including movement, lodging, electricity, water, communication and health of Amarnath pilgrims. He said that this is the first journey after the Kovid epidemic and if people have any kind of health related problem due to the high altitude, then adequate arrangements should be made for them.

Mobile towers should be raised for information dissemination

The Home Minister said that mobile towers should be increased for better communication and dissemination of any information on the Yatra route, as well as machines should be deployed to open the route immediately in case of landslides. Amit Shah also asked to ensure adequate number of oxygen cylinders, adequate medical beds at an altitude of more than 6000 feet and deployment of ambulances and helicopters to deal with any emergency medical situation. He said that all types of transport services should be increased during the Amarnath Yatra for the convenience of the passengers.

A RIFD card will be given to every Amarnath Yatri

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir said that for the first time every Amarnath yatri would be given a RIFD card and an insurance of Rs 5 lakh would be insured. With the help of this card, the information about the passenger’s vehicles or where the passenger is will be available. eitherTent city, WiFi hotspot and proper lighting will be arranged on the travel route for the journey. Along with this, online live darshan of Baba Barfani, live telecast of morning and evening aarti in the holy Amarnath cave and religious and cultural programs will be organized in the base camp.
