Cyclone Asani: The cyclonic storm Asani, which rose from the Bay of Bengal, has now reached Andhra Pradesh. There was heavy rain in the morning in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh. Odisha’s Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jeena had said that by Wednesday morning, the storm would be likely to hit the Andhra Pradesh coast. He had said that cyclonic storm Asani is moving towards North Andhra coast from Bay of Bengal and it is estimated that by tomorrow morning this storm will reach Kakinada coast of Andhra. Apart from this, an official of the Meteorological Department said that a warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued to the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Many flights canceled due to cyclonic storm Asani
Visakhapatnam air director K. Issuing a statement, Srinivas Rao has informed that in view of the storm, the Aviation Department has canceled all flights. Giving more information, he said that all flights of Indigo, Air Asia and Spice Jet have been canceled from Visakhapatnam. However, Air India has not yet decided about the operation of its flights. He said that SpiceJet’s Kolkata-Visakhapatnam-Kolkata flight will remain cancelled. So the decision regarding the flight to Hyderabad will be taken after 2 pm. Apart from this, 22 incoming and 22 outgoing flights of IndiGo will remain cancelled. Two Air Asia flights, one from Bangalore and one from Delhi, have also been cancelled.
Board exams postponed in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education has postponed the examinations to be conducted on Wednesday. Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has taken this decision in view of Cyclone Asani. The board has not made any changes in the schedule of the examinations to be held for the rest of its days. From May 12, the remaining examinations of the board will be conducted as per the schedule. The exam which was to be held on May 11 will now be held on May 25. Speculations of postponing the AP Intermediate Exam 2022 were doing the rounds since last evening as the cyclone intensified towards the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, rain has started in many parts of Andhra Pradesh with strong winds.
