Telecom Bill Draft: If you talk to people or send them messages through WhatsApp, then you will no longer get it for free. The Narendra Modi government at the Center has released the draft of the Telecom Bill to seek the opinion of the people. There is a provision in the bill that sending calls and messages through WhatsApp and Facebook will be considered as a telecom service, for which companies will have to take a license.

Telecom companies of the country have been continuously complaining that they are being harmed by providing messaging and calling services to consumers by platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook. The draft bill has been made public to know the opinion of the people. You can give your opinion on the provisions of this bill till October 20.

After that it will be introduced in the Parliament. Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in the proposed bill to prevent cyber fraud, a provision has been made to increase the punishment for such crimes. Different areas of the country like Jamtara, Alwar and Nuh have become infamous for such frauds.

Another provision was made in the proposed bill that the identity of any person making a call can now be identified by the person receiving the call. There is no need to download any app for this. Ashwini Vaishnav said that in order to streamline the digital system in the country and protect the interests of consumers, the government is also working on the draft Personal Data Protection Bill and Digital India Bill in addition to the Telecom Bill.
