Atmakur Bypoll Result: In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling YSRCP won the Atmakur assembly by-election. YSRCP candidate Mekapati Vikram Reddy won by a huge margin of over 82,000 votes. CM and party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy congratulated M Vikram Reddy of YSRCP. Reddy defeated G Bharat Kumar of BJP by 82,888 votes.

In the 16th round, the candidates of the ruling party were ahead with a majority of 66,477. He got 81,636 votes while Kumar got 15,159 votes. Around 65 per cent voting was recorded in the by-elections held on Thursday in the Atmakur assembly seat of Nellore district and the counting of votes took place on Sunday.

Please tell that Atmakur seat comes in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The by-election was held here on June 23. In February, a by-election had to be held on the Ul seat due to the death of Industries Minister M. Gowtham Reddy. At the same time, the total voters of Atmakur are 2,13,400. Out of which 1,07,367 are women voters and 11 are transgender. There were 14 candidates in the fray in the by-election from this seat.

Tough competition between them:

The main contest on this seat was between YSR Congress and BJP. YSR Congress had fielded Mekapati Vikram Reddy as a candidate on behalf of its party. Whereas BJP had nominated Kumar Gundlapally. Apart from these two parties, Anna Akbar Mehboob Basha from YSR Congress Party, Nanda Obuleshu from BSP, Hazrathaiya Payella from Janam-Manam Party, Sheikh Jalil from Navrang Congress Party were in the fray.
