Delhi Bazar E-Portal: The Delhi government is going to give a global platform to the markets of the state. In view of this, the Kejriwal government will start the “Delhi Bazar” e-portal from December with 10 thousand vendors and has targeted to add more than one lakh vendors in the next six months. In this regard, DDC Vice President Jasmin Shah gave a presentation in front of CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday.

Regarding this, CM Arvind Kejriwal said that this will be the first such portal in the country, where all the markets of Delhi will be on one portal. Every merchant and shopkeeper of Delhi will be able to display their product on the portal, which can be seen by the world and their goods will be sold all over the world. The Delhi government will first help in connecting one lakh sellers to the portal and the market associations will verify them. An agency will be appointed by the Delhi government, which will look after all the work of the Delhi Bazaar portal. At the same time, the Delhi government is also talking to e-commerce companies, so that the products of Delhi Bazaar portal can be displayed there and shopping can be done. Due to the zero cost, the products available on the Delhi Bazar portal will be cheaper than the e-commerce companies.

Delhi market e-portal will be like e-commerce companies

In a presentation placed in front of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday at the Delhi Secretariat regarding the “Delhi Bazar” e-portal, information about the process of Delhi Bazar portal was given. It was told that the way there are e-commerce companies, in the same way the Delhi Bazaar e-portal will also work. All the markets and all the shops of Delhi will be available on the Delhi Bazaar portal. Delhi Bazaar portal will also promote these markets. For example, if someone wants to see Chandni Chowk and he is sitting in another city, then he will go to the website of Delhi Bazar portal online and will be able to get information about his favorite goods in Chandni Chowk market. Also, through virtual navigation, you can get detailed information about the market. Also, one can buy goods by paying through e-payment. The Delhi Bazaar portal will have a team, which will go to the markets and do its complete branding. The Delhi government says that due to the zero setup cost, the products available on the Delhi Bazaar portal will also be cheaper than e-commerce companies.

All the shopkeepers of Delhi will be on one website

It was told in the presentation that Delhi is the first state government of the country, which is going to enable Open Network for Commerce (ONDC). The Delhi government wants the markets of Delhi to be unique and the market platform to be global. Where buyers are different and sellers are different. Any product can be searched by visiting the website of Delhi Bazaar. If someone wants to buy a shoe, then he can go to the Delhi Bazar portal and search for a shoe shop. The name of the dealer will appear on the map, where the detailed information of the shoe and shop will be found. The buyer can enter the online shop and see the quality and price of each of its products and can buy the product of his choice.

Negotiations are also going on with the Delhi government’s e-payment platform, so that even by visiting the e-payment platform, one can buy goods from the Delhi Bazaar portal and make online payments. The government plans to display the product of Delhi Bazaar Portal on all the e-payment platforms available. With this, the markets of Delhi will be able to get the market at the global level. There will be branding of Delhi markets. Anyone will be able to buy goods from anywhere and there will be an option to pay online. This will increase the supply chain of the markets as well as the customers.

Virtual navigation facility will be provided in the first five markets

It was told in the presentation that if a person opens a market with the help of virtual navigation, then he can roam the entire market online through his computer. For example, if we want, we can roam the streets of Chandni Chowk from our home computer. Through virtual navigation, we can experience the entire market. When you open the Delhi Bazar portal, there will be an option of virtual navigation. If you want to visit Chandni Chowk, then by clicking on the navigation option, you will get a view of the entire streets of Chandni Chowk, where are the shops etc. When you click on a shop, then complete information about that shop will be revealed. For this, the Delhi government will hire vendors. It will be started from five markets and then gradually it will be implemented in every market of Delhi.

During this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appreciated the presentation and said that the markets of Delhi have to be made world class. In the coming time, the markets of Delhi will be recognized all over the world. The Delhi government will provide all possible facilities to the markets. Delhi Bazaar e-portal will be launched with ten thousand vendors by December 2022. The Delhi government will help to connect one lakh sellers with the portal first. The market association will verify these shopkeepers. An agency will be appointed, which will look after all the work of Delhi Bazar portal. This is going to be the first time in the country, when Delhi markets will be available on multi-platform in Delhi.

This is how the e-portal of Delhi Bazar will work

Delhi Bazaar will be a discovery platform. The purpose of this is that all the small and big shopkeepers of Delhi will be brought on online zero setup. Whether they are registered in GST or not, all will be allowed on the Delhi Bazar portal. Shopkeepers can create their own micro site on Delhi market. After which all the products that are in their shop, all those products will be listed on the Delhi Bazaar e-portal. When a customer will visit the Delhi Bazaar portal, he can search by shopkeeper name, market name and product name. Apart from this, a feature will also be activated on the Delhi Bazar portal that if you want to visit Chandni Chowk market online while sitting at home, you can virtually navigate to Chandni Chowk market. Apart from this, the goods of all the registered shopkeepers on the Delhi Bazar portal will be listed and when a product has to be paid after purchasing it, then we can also pay by visiting Amazon or other platform. There is a buyer interface on this e-portal, where anyone can make their payment.

You will be able to buy products from Delhi market on the portal of e-commerce companies

The main feature of Delhi Bazar e-portal is that you will be able to buy products from sellers of Delhi market by visiting the portal of e-commerce companies or you can buy products from sellers registered on e-commerce companies by visiting Delhi Bazar portal. For this, the Delhi Government is enabling the Open Network for Digital Platforms (ONDC) of the Delhi Bazaar portal. ONDC is an initiative started by the Central Government. It is like UPI in a way. By the way if our bank account is in Axis Bank. We have to send money to someone and his bank account is in HDFC Bank, then we can send money to him through UPI. So is the ONDC.

For example, if someone is viewing a product by going to Amazon, then he will also see the sellers registered on Delhi market and Flipkart there. Due to this, if you get the product cheaper on Delhi market or Flipkart, then you can buy the product from there as well. Right now it happens that if you go to the Amazon portal, then you can buy the product only from the seller of Amazon. By enabling ONDC, the products of all e-commerce companies including Amazon, Flipkart will also be displayed on the Delhi Bazaar portal. This is happening for the first time in India in Delhi, when all the sellers will gather at one place on the Delhi Bazaar portal and you will be able to buy the product from anywhere. If you are searching for a shoe on Paytm, then the shoe of a shopkeeper registered on the Delhi Bazar portal will also be displayed there.

Delhi Bazaar Portal will be a state-of-the-art e-market place

The Delhi Bazaar portal will be a state-of-the-art e-market place being built by the Delhi government to help businesses grow and diversify based in Delhi. The Delhi Bazaar portal will be designed with the best technology to enhance the digital presence of Delhi businesses including traders, vendors, wholesalers, service providers etc. The first phase of this scheme will focus on involving sellers of the products. In the second phase, service providers will be connected to this platform. The Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi was entrusted with the task of assisting the Department of Industries in making the Delhi Bazaar portal better and preparing a strategic roadmap.

All sellers of Delhi will have their own store on the Delhi Bazaar portal

Every seller of Delhi will have his own store on the Delhi Bazar Portal. Where they will be able to showcase their shops and products through a wide product catalogue. This will be an additional virtual store running 24 hours at zero cost, which will expand the reach of sellers in larger markets. This will help sellers to reach domestic and international customers. The portal is envisioned to be the first and largest e-commerce marketplace under the Digital Commerce Open Network (ONDC) initiative of the Government of India. So that sellers can be easily traced and allow them to conduct their business on multiple buyer platforms.
