Indian Railway Recruitment: The Railways said on Tuesday that it will recruit 1,48,463 people in the next one year, while 43,678 people were recruited annually on an average in the last eight years. This step comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to recruit 10 lakh people in various departments and ministries in the next 18 months. According to the latest annual report on salaries and allowances released by the Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance, the total number of regular civil employees (including union territories) of the central government as on March 1, 2020, stood at 31.91 lakh, while the total number of sanctioned posts was 40.78. was lakh. Accordingly, about 21.75 percent posts were vacant.

The report said that about 92 percent of the total labor force comes under five major ministries or departments, these include Railways, Defense (Civil), Home Affairs, Posts and Revenue. The share of Railways is 40.55 percent in the total prescribed strength of 31.33 lakh posts (excluding Union Territories). Government sources said that following the instructions of PM Modi, various departments and ministries were asked to prepare the details of vacancies and after an overall review, it was decided to recruit 10 lakh people.

During various assembly elections, opposition parties have tried to corner the BJP on the issue of unemployment. Railways said that from 2014-15 to 2021-22, it recruited a total of 3,49,422 people and the average was 43,678 per annum, while in 2022-23 it would recruit 1,48,463 people. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, the Prime Minister’s Office has given this information by tweeting that in the next one and a half years i.e. by the end of 2023, the Central Government will recruit 10 lakh people in its different departments and ministries. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries in the departments, after which the government has taken this decision.
