Central Government Schemes: In the last 7 years, many special schemes have been started by the Central Government, under which the government has settled the claim of crores of rupees. If you have not yet taken advantage of Atal Pension Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), then register now. The government has taken these schemes to the common man in the last 7 years.

Schemes started on 9 May 2015
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of these three social security schemes that the number of people enrolled and benefited under these schemes in the last seven years is a proof of their success. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched these three schemes on May 9, 2015.

12.76 crore people got insurance cover
The Finance Minister said that since the launch of Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, 12.76 crore people have enrolled for the insurance cover so far. During this, the families of 5,76,121 people have received Rs 11,522 crore as claims. This scheme has proved to be extremely useful during the pandemic for low-income families. About 50 percent of the claims paid in the financial year 2020-21 were made by the families of those who lost their lives in the Kovid-19 epidemic.

Rs 1,930 crore given under protection insurance
After the onset of the pandemic, from April 1, 2020 to February 23, 2022, a total of 2.10 lakh claims worth Rs 4,194.28 crore were paid with a settlement rate of 99.72 per cent, he said. Sitharaman said that 28.37 crore people have also enrolled for accident cover under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). During this, an amount of Rs 1,930 crore has been paid in respect of 97,227 claims.

2 lakh cover is available in Jeevan Jyoti Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) provides a life insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh, while under PMSBY Rs 2 lakh in case of death or permanent disability and Rs 1 lakh in case of temporary disability.

4 lakh crore people joined Atal Pension Yojana
Referring to the Atal Pension Yojana, the Finance Minister said that so far more than four crore people have registered under this pension scheme. On this occasion, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat K Karad asked the banks and insurance companies to continue with the same enthusiasm and dedication till the last person is given social security cover.
