App Based Premium Bus Service in Delhi: People in Delhi are going to get the gift of premium bus service. Passengers will be able to book seats online in the bus like a cab. In the year 2016, the Delhi government had announced to bring the mobile app based aggregator scheme. Finally, after a long wait, the government has decided to fully implement the scheme. On Wednesday, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. All the officers of the Transport Department including Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot were present in the meeting. The purpose of bringing the scheme is to bring change in the public transport of Delhi and to reduce the private vehicles from the road.
Special facility going to Delhiites
The government believes that the facilities provided to the people will also help in reducing air pollution. The Chief Minister said that buses equipped with modern facilities will be run on the roads of Delhi under the mobile app based aggregator scheme. People will get the facility of premium bus service so that they can use public transport except private vehicles. Passengers will not be allowed to travel standing in the app based premium buses, there will be enough seats to sit. At least two CCTV cameras will be equipped for security and surveillance.

Bus tickets can be booked like a cab
The cameras will be active during each trip. There will also be a panic button facility in the bus. The helpline numbers of the transport department and police will also be displayed inside and outside the bus. All information including location, route and ride booking, digital payment will be linked to ‘One Delhi App’. All buses will be linked with fire safety, valid insurance, fitness certificate, pollution control certificate. All buses running after January 1, 2024 will be electric. The color of all the buses including the logo of Delhi Government and the aggregator company will be the same.
The new bus to be purchased after the notification will be BS-6 compliant. According to the information, the aggregators operating the buses will decide the fare. The fare will vary according to the route and destination. All the information related to the fare of buses will be available on the mobile application and website. Passengers will be able to take tickets through mobile app and web. No ticket will be available through offline physical mode.
That is, all the buses under the scheme will be app based. Just as cabs are booked through application and web, booking can also be done in bus. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed the officials of the Transport Department to implement the plan and make a policy at the earliest. The public of Delhi will also be consulted before implementing the scheme. Soon a notification is going to be issued by the Transport Department.
