Delhi News: Amid discontent over ticket distribution for next month’s Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state chief Adesh Gupta replaced the working presidents of six district units of the party with immediate effect. Is. Adesh Gupta had appointed working presidents of 6 district units on Monday, but within hours the orders of appointments were withdrawn. The new list does not contain the names of the three working presidents who were given a place in the first list.

Party sources claimed that the step was taken after senior leaders, including party MPs, expressed dissatisfaction with some working presidents appointed by Gupta.

These names got place in the new list
According to the new list, Sardar Kuldeep Singh has been made the president of Chandni Chowk, Manoj Tyagi of Naveen Shahdara, Lata Gupta of Shahdara, Naresh Vashishtha of Mehrauli, Vinod Sehrawat of North West Delhi and Ramesh Shokhanda of Najafgarh. In Monday’s list, Deepak Gauba was appointed as acting president of Shahdara, Azad Singh of Mehrauli and Sunil Mittal of North West Delhi district unit.

A senior party leader said, “Gaba and Singh were replaced after strong opposition from local MPs.” It was also alleged that Gaba was against the BJP candidate from Anand Vihar ward. Singh was expelled from the BJP in 2019 on charges of indiscipline. It was also claimed that working presidents have been appointed in 6 districts because the current president or his wife is contesting the MCD elections.
