Mundka Fire: At least 20 people were killed when a fire broke out in a building near Mundka metro station in west Delhi on Friday evening. According to fire department officials, the information about the fire was received at around 4.40 pm after which 24 fire tenders were sent to the spot.

Atul Garg, director of Delhi Fire Service, told at around 10.30 pm that relief work is going on. The bodies of 20 people have been recovered. The fire broke out in a three-storey commercial building. Rescue workers are yet to reach the third floor. The death toll may increase further.

Delhi Police said that 10 people have been injured. 60-70 people have been evacuated from the building. A senior police official said that on receiving information about the fire, police personnel reached the spot and the people trapped in the building were rescued by breaking the window panes and the injured were admitted to a hospital.

Outer Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sameer Sharma said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the three-storey commercial building houses the offices of the companies. According to the DCP, the fire started from the first floor of the building where the office of the company manufacturing CCTV cameras and routers is located. Police said that the owner of the company has been arrested by the police.
