Prisoners exceeding capacity in Delhi jails
This land of DDA present in Narela was to be given to the jail administration but for the last two decades this land was not allotted to the jail administration, after which after intervention by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena, this land was alerted to the jail administration. given. Now the fourth railway of Delhi will be constructed here. After the construction of this jail, the prisoners who are more than the capacity in the rest of the jails of Delhi will be shifted to the new jail, so that the prisoners can live comfortably.

Capacity 10 thousand prisoners 20 thousand
Let us inform that at present, more prisoners are lodged in all the three major jails of Delhi. Tihar Jail, one of the largest jails of Delhi, has a capacity to hold 5200 prisoners, whereas at present more than 13000 prisoners are lodged in Tihar Jail. At the same time, Rohini Jail has the capacity to hold 1050 prisoners, where more than two thousand prisoners are lodged. At the same time, Mandoli Jail has a capacity to keep 3700 prisoners while about 4300 prisoners are lodged here. Altogether, more than 20,000 prisoners have been kept in the three major districts of Delhi, while their capacity is 10 thousand.

Jail may be ready by 2024
According to the information, the jail administration had been demanding this land in Narela from DDA for a long time. It was also completed, but the DDA jail administration was also demanding about 30 crores as interest, due to which the issue of land allotment to the jail administration got stuck, but in the past, on behalf of Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, this matter intervened and finally the land was handed over by the DDA to the jail administration. After this, the way has been cleared to become the fourth jail in Delhi. Now soon the construction work of Delhi’s fourth biggest jail in Narela will start. After this, the hope is that by the end of the year 2024, this prison can be ready.
