Delhi News: Ten women have been arrested in South Delhi’s Tigri area after a clash broke out between women and shop workers who were protesting against the opening of a liquor shop. The police gave this information on Saturday. Police said that the incident happened before the shop opened at 8.30 am on Thursday.
What is the whole matter?
Police said that some local women were against opening of liquor shops in the area, and they staged a protest which led to the clash. Officials said the police had already been called to the scene, as they had been informed about the protests. The shop owner had also called the women employees, as the protest got furious, a fight broke out between the protesting women and the women employees posted at the shop, in which a policeman was also injured.
Ten women were arrested
Head constable Ranjit got embroiled in a fight and the mob tore his uniform, the official said. The situation in the area was brought under control and the injured employee got medical examination done at AIIMS Trauma Centre. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Marie Jayakar said, “Ten accused have been arrested in this case. The situation in the area is under control and adequate number of personnel have been deployed.
