Dengue In Delhi: The effect of dengue has started showing in the country’s capital Delhi with the rains. According to the data, more than double the cases are being reported this time as compared to the last two years. These days children are also getting affected by this mosquito-borne disease. Children’s doctors in the capital say that dengue is also being found in children coming with fever on OPD basis and some need to be admitted. If dengue fever is not taken care of properly then it becomes dangerous. Let us inform that till August 20, the total number of dengue cases in Delhi this year reached 189.

This was the condition of the past years

According to the data released by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, 4726 cases of dengue were reported in Delhi in 2017. There were 10 deaths. After this, in the year 2018, 2798 cases of dengue were found, while 4 people died. In 2019, 2036 dengue cases were found and 2 patients died. According to the data, Delhi had the lowest number of dengue cases in the last 5 years in 2020, when only 1072 patients were dengue positive and 1 died.

26 cases of dengue were found in July

The city had previously witnessed a massive dengue outbreak in 2015, when the number of dengue cases crossed 10,600 in October alone. This was the highest dengue outbreak in Delhi since 1996. According to the Delhi Municipal Corporation report, 23 cases of dengue were registered in Delhi in January this year, 16 in February, 22 in March, 20 in April, 30 in May, 32 in June and 26 in July.
