Delhi University Forms Committe To Work Upon Teacher Student Ratio Lower Ranking Makes DU Administration Worried

Delhi University Forms Committee To Manage Student - Teacher Ratio:...

Delhi University Forms Committee To Manage Student – Teacher Ratio: For the first time, Delhi University has constituted a committee which will work to improve the student-teacher ratio. Actually DU administration is very upset with the declining ranking of the university. Delhi University did not perform well this year first in the QS rankings and then in the NIRF rankings (DU QS and NIRF Ranking 2022). DU slipped to a lower rung as compared to last year. Seeing this, the force has fallen on the forehead of the DU administration. It is believed that this is happening due to deteriorating student-teacher ratio.

The committee was formed for the first time –

For the first time a committee has been constituted in Delhi University to maintain the teacher-student ratio. Professor Prakash Singh, chairman of the seven-member committee, said that the number of students has increased in recent years. In this regard, the committee will talk to all departments and faculties. Find out what should be the student-teacher ratio.

For this reason the QS ranking had fallen –

The committee will find out what should be the teacher-student ratio from practical to lecture. The DU administration believes that even in the QS ranking, DU was backward because the student-teacher ratio was not good. DU had to be satisfied with a rating of only 4.5 for student-teacher ratio, 1.5 for foreign faculty ratio and just 1.9 for foreign student ratio.

DU’s ranking fell so much –

Last year the ranking of DU was between 501 and 510. Whereas this time the ranking has reached between 521 to 530. In fact, there has been an increase of 25 percent in the seats of students from economically weaker sections in DU. Due to this, the class which had 100 students earlier now has more than 150 students but the number of teachers has not increased.
