Sadar Hospital: In protest against the incident of assault with a doctor at Sadar Hospital located at Deoghar district headquarters, 19 doctors of the hospital have submitted their mass resignation on Tuesday. Due to this, all the doctors across the district have gone on strike. In the letter of mass resignation submitted to the Civil Surgeon, the doctors have written that if action is not taken against the accused who attacked at the earliest, then the agitation will be intensified. The Jharkhand state unit of the Indian Medical Association has also supported the doctors’ move.

It was told that on Tuesday morning in Deoghar Sadar Hospital, the relatives of a patient beat up Dr Kundan. After this, Dr Diwakar was assaulted in the afternoon. Doctors say that those who attacked are associated with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Jharkhand IMA Secretary Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh said that doctors across the state will go on strike if action is not taken against the accused.

Decision taken to stop OPD
President of IMA Deoghar, Dr. Dhanwantri Tiwari said that the morale of the doctors has fallen due to such incidents happening again and again. Work cannot be done in such condition. In this regard, it has been decided to stop OPDs in government and private hospitals and clinics.

Patients are facing a lot of trouble due to the strike of doctors. Hundreds of patients had to return without treatment from government and private hospitals in the district.
