England Playing 11: The last match of the three-Test series is to be played between New Zealand and England from June 23. A day before the match, England has announced its playing 11. England’s star fast bowler James Anderson, however, is not part of the last Test due to injury. England has given Jimmy Overton a chance to debut in his place. England have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
England captain Ben Stokes informed about the play of Jamie Overton. He said, “James Anderson will not be a part of this match. They have to sit outside. Jimmy Overton will get a chance to debut. He will be a part of the playing 11 in the match starting from Thursday.
28-year-old Jimmy Overton has shown excellent form in county cricket. Playing for Surrey, Overton has taken 21 wickets in five matches. Overton, however, did not get a chance to play alongside his twin brother, Craig. Craig will have to sit out of this match.
Only one change in the team
Apart from Overton, England has not made any changes in their playing 11. The England team has decided to give one more chance to opener Jack Crowley, who is struggling with poor form. At the same time, Ben Stokes is also fully fit for the last match after beating Kovid 19.
