India’s 5 Amazing Expressways: Expressways are the highest class of roads in the Indian road network. These four to six lane expressways form a rapid transport network between many major cities and ports of India. It is a 28 km long access-controlled toll expressway and one of the most important expressways in the country.
The Mumbai Western Express Highway is an 8-10 lane main road. This 25.33 km expressway starts near Mahim Creek and ends at Mira-Dahisar toll booth in the northern limits of the city. Beyond the city limits, it goes beyond the Mumbai-Delhi National Highway 8. To avoid heavy traffic in Mumbai, the Andheri flyover has been built on the Western Express Highway.
