Rashid Latif On Ravi Shastri: Ravi Shastri’s tenure as Indian coach was brilliant. The former Indian player is considered one of the most successful coaches. Meanwhile, former Pakistani player Rashid Latif has targeted Ravi Shastri. Actually, he has blamed Ravi Shastri for the poor form of former Indian captain Virat Kohli. According to Rashid Latif, if Shastri had not become the head coach of the Indian team, then Virat Kohli would not have been out of form.
‘Shastri responsible for Virat Kohli’s poor form’
Former Pakistani wicketkeeper Rashid Latif said that Ravi Shastri was the head coach of the Indian team from 2017 to 2021, when he did not do any work of coaching the Indian team. It is worth noting that the legendary Indian player Virat Kohli has failed to score a century in international cricket for almost 2 years. At the same time, the performance of this batsman in IPL has also been disappointing. Actually, Virat Kohli last scored a century in international cricket in November 2019.
‘The decision to appoint Ravi Shastri as coach backfired’
Rashid Latif said that former coach Ravi Shastri is responsible for the poor form of Virat Kohli. He said that you sidelined a veteran player like Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri came to take over as the coach. Whether he had coaching accreditation or not, I don’t know. He further said that former coach Ravi Shastri was a TV presenter. He had no experience of coaching. Barring Virat Kohli, I am sure there will be more people who would have played a role in bringing in Shastri but now it is backfired.
