Gautam Buddha Nagar News: In Gautam Buddha Nagar, the Transport Department has started a campaign to run fit autos on the roads. Under this, unfit autos will be seized and they will not be able to run on the roads. After this, now the District Officer Suhas LY has issued new instructions to make the transport system in the district better and better, to stop the auto drivers from charging arbitrary fares. Under which the auto will not be able to run on the roads in which the meter is not installed. The Transport Department is preparing to implement these rules. Now from May 21, if any auto runs without a meter, then action will be taken against it.

It is necessary to install meters by May 21

Giving information about the order of the District Magistrate, AK Pandey of ARTO said that the Transport Department will fully follow the orders of the District Administration. He further told that the fitness test of auto was made necessary in the district. After this, the district administration has also made it mandatory to install meters in autos. For this, the Auto Association had asked for a week’s time and this time is being completed by Friday i.e. May 20. After which from May 21, if any auto driver is found driving without meter in the district, then action will be taken.

15 thousand autos do not have meters

Earlier, the Transport Department had also warned the auto drivers in the district that those whose autos are unfit should get them repaired, because there are about four thousand autos in the district which do not have fitness certificates at present. Therefore, the Transport Department will start a campaign against them as well. On the other hand, if we talk about auto without meter, then at present around 17 thousand autos are being run in the district. Of these, about 15 thousand autos are without meters.

Auto Association President Lal Babu told that a week’s time was taken from the Transport Department regarding the problem of installing meters in autos, but one week’s time is not enough to install meters in so many autos. Therefore, now the association will demand more time from the Transport Department.
