Gopalganj: Big news is coming out of Gopalganj. The police team that went to nab the accused was attacked by the mob on Saturday. In this, six policemen including OP in-charge, trainee inspector were injured. All have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the senior police officers reached the spot and inquired about the incident.
The matter is of Banshi Batrahan village under Shripur OP of Phulwaria police station in Gopalganj district. The police had gone to nab an accused on Saturday. Meanwhile, the furious mob launched a deadly attack. In which six policemen including OP in-charge and trainee inspector were injured. All are being treated at the local Marchhiyan Devi Referral Hospital, Phulwaria.
There were 15 attackers
Hathua SDPO Naresh Kumar told that the police force under the leadership of OP in-charge Nagendra Kumar Sahni had gone to raid for the arrest of Bineet Rai alias Happy Rai of Banshi Batrahan village. He was absconding in an earlier case. As soon as the police arrived, Happy Rai went to nearby Girdhar Parsa village and hid inside a house. The police arrested him from there. Meanwhile, 15 number of attackers attacked the police team. Simultaneously, while pushing with the police, the accused was freed.

Police took people involved in the attack into custody
The SDPO said that after the information about the attack on the police team, additional police force has been sent to the spot. Along with this, Sanjay Kumar Pandey, who was involved in the attackers, was taken into custody by the police. Injured police officers and personnel were sent to Referral Hospital Phulwaria for treatment. The injured team members include OP in-charge Nagendra Kumar Sahni, trainee inspector Suraj Kumar Sharma, policemen Ram Sagar Upadhyay, Shashikant Kumar and driver Jitendra Kumar Dubey. In this regard, an FIR has been registered in the police station on the written complaint of the OP in-charge. In which, while naming three, including Vineet Kumar Rai alias Happy Rai, resident of Banshi Batrahan village, the other twelve unknowns have been made accused of other cases including obstructing government work.
