Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022: Only 2 weeks are left for the Gujarat assembly elections. Every party has put all its strength into the elections. Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) founder Chhotu Vasava has filed an independent nomination from Jhagadia assembly seat on Monday (November 14). He is contesting against his son Mahesh on this seat.
Chhotu Vasava is considered a big Dalit leader of Gujarat. He has been elected MLA from reserved seat for 7 times. He has decided to contest as an independent candidate in this assembly election. Vasava is quite confident of his victory in the first phase of polling to be held on December 1.

Mahesh Vasava, the national president of Bharatiya Tribal Party and Chhotu Vasava’s son, has been nominated by the party from its Jhagadia assembly seat. Responding to the question of his son being made a candidate from this seat, Vasava said that members of a family can contest from four seats. BJP is neither going to win in the country nor in Gujarat. I am very optimistic about the victory.

His supporters held a meeting at his residence after which it was decided that he would contest the elections.

In May this year, Chhotu Vasava forged an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and held a joint rally in Bharuch with AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Out of 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, 89 will go to polls in the first phase on December 1. The last date for withdrawal of candidature for the first phase is November 17. The second phase of polling for 93 assembly seats will be held on December 5. The results of this election will come on 8 December.
