Hardik Patel Resigns: Hardik Patel, who emerged from the Patidar reservation movement, today resigned from the party, giving a big blow to the Congress. Hardik Patel, who joined the Congress three years ago, alleged that its (Congress) senior leaders behaved as if they hated Gujarat and Gujaratis. Patel’s (28) resignation comes ahead of the Gujarat assembly elections due later this year.

Expressing his dismay, he wrote that party workers like him travel 500-600 km a day to attend party meetings and discuss issues, but find that the leader, Congress from Delhi Some of the senior leaders are busy in providing ‘Chicken Sandwich’ on time.

Congress has also reacted to Hardik Patel’s resignation. Gujarat Congress in-charge Raghu Sharma has said that the discussion of Naresh Patel joining Congress made Hardik Patel feel politically insecure even though the party had given him a big responsibility by making him the state working president at a very young age.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, Shakti Singh Gohil said that BJP has got Hardik Patel to resign due to fear of defeat in Gujarat. Gohil asked Hardik the question that none of the demands placed by him during the Patidar movement were fulfilled, then for what personal interest is he joining the BJP?

In the letter of resignation sent to Sonia Gandhi, Hardik made serious allegations against the Congress leadership and indirectly Rahul Gandhi, saying that the Congress leadership is not serious and leaders are abroad in times of need. Raghu Sharma called these allegations of Hardik as opportunistic. He said that Hardik Patel was in touch with BJP for a long time and with their help, he got the cases registered against him returned and is now making allegations against Congress at his behest.

Just before the Gujarat assembly elections, Congress’s state working president Hardik Patel leaving the party is considered a big setback for the Congress. Hardik Patel, who came into the limelight with the Patidar reservation movement in 2015, had given sleepless nights to the BJP government. Many cases were also registered against him. He had joined the Congress about three years ago.

He was being considered as the future of the party in the state, but Hardik had been angry with the Congress for some time. After Hardik’s departure, it has to be seen how long the Congress gets the big Patidar leader Naresh Patel to join the party! Recently Raghu Sharma had given a statement that Naresh Patel is in touch with Congress.
