India Pakistan Trade: The Shahbaz Sharif government of Pakistan has decided to take a big step towards improving trade relations with India. The Pakistan cabinet has decided that Pakistan will once again appoint a Minister of Trade in its High Commission in New Delhi. Along with this, the Shahbaz Sharif government has decided the name of the new trade minister of Pakistan.
It is noteworthy that before the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, the post of Minister Trade was active in the Pakistan High Commission and Irfan Tarar, husband of former Health Minister in the PMLN government, was posted on this post. But after the end of his term and in protest against the removal of 370, the Imran government did not send anyone to this post.
According to sources, senior leader of PMLN’s ally Pakistan People’s Party PPP, Qamar Zaman Kaira may be made Minister Trade in Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Qamar Zaman is currently Shehbaz Sharif’s advisor on Kashmir.
By doing this, the Government of Pakistan has given indications on its behalf in the direction of normalizing relations with India. The reaction of the Government of India on this decision of the Government of Pakistan is yet to come.
After the fall of Imran Khan’s government, Shahbaz Sharif was sworn in as the Prime Minister on 11 April 2022. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated him by tweeting.
