International Nurses Day 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday on International Nurses Day that nurses play an important role in keeping our earth healthy. The birth of nurse Florence Nightingale is celebrated

International Nurses Day started in 1947. Nurses Day is celebrated on the birthday of Nurse Florence Nightingale i.e. on 12th May. Along with Florence Nightingale, she was also a great social reformer. The way nurses took care of wounded soldiers during the Crimean War is commendable. For this service she was called Lady with the Lamp. Florence Nightingale raised it as a profession.

Nightingale served patients selflessly regardless of herself. This day is celebrated every year to pay tribute to him. On one front, he trained many women as nurses and on the other he also treated soldiers. In this way, he left an indelible mark in Victorian culture through his service. She got recognition as ‘Lady with the Lamp’. Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820. In the year 1965, this day was first celebrated as a festival. On this day, the nurses who do excellent work are rewarded.
