Iran Mahsa Amini Death Row: At least 31 civilians have been killed in the Islamic Republic Police’s (Morality Police) crackdown on protests that erupted after the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran. An Oslo-based NGO made this claim on Thursday. It is being told that after the death of the woman, the protesters became furious and police stations and vehicles were torched in many areas of the city on Thursday. Iran Human Rights (IHR) director Mahmoud Amiri-Moghaddam said in a statement: “The people of Iran have taken to the streets to assert their fundamental rights and human dignity, and the government is responding to their peaceful protest with bullets. Which he has strongly criticized. Iran Human Rights said that it has confirmed the protests taking place in more than 30 cities and towns.

Violence erupts after Amini’s death

Protests against Amini’s death first began in the northern province of Kurdistan, where Amini was born, but have now spread across the country. The IHR said 11 people were killed in the demonstration on Wednesday night in the city of Amol in northern Mazandaran province and six in Babol in the same province. Apart from this, the death of one person has been confirmed in the protests in Tabriz.

On the other hand, after the death of Mehsa Amini, the situation there seems to be getting out of control. People took to the streets and demonstrated against Mahsa’s death. Gradually this demonstration has spread to more than 50 cities and towns of Iran. Police used force to stop the protesters. There have also been reports of protests erupting from many places, where protesters have torched police stations and their vehicles.

Mahsa Amini assaulted in custody

In Iran, 22-year-old Mehsa Amini was detained by the police on September 13 for not wearing a hijab. It is alleged that the police assaulted her in custody, due to which she went into a coma. Mahsa died three days after this incident. However, the officials assured that they would initiate an inquiry into the cause of Mahsa’s death.
