Jharkhand Mandar By Election Voting: Voting for the by-election to the Mandar assembly seat of Jharkhand began at 7 am on Thursday amid tight security. An election official has given this information. The official said that polling is going on in 433 centers, which will continue till 4 pm. More than 3.54 lakh voters will be able to exercise their franchise in the by-election, including 1.75 lakh women. Counting of votes will take place on June 26. Over 3,000 security personnel, including Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP), Central Reserve Police Force (CIPF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), have been deployed in view of the polling.
Abolished Bandhu Tirkey Assembly Membership
The assembly membership of Bandhu Tirkey, the Congress MLA from Mandar, has been abolished, after which elections are being held on this seat. He was found guilty on March 28 by the Special Court of CBI in the case of acquiring more assets, after which he was sentenced to 3 years and also fined 3 lakhs. After this, the legislature of Bandhu Tirkey was abolished. With the end of the legislature, the Mandar assembly seat fell vacant on March 28.

The result of the by-election to Mandar assembly seat will be given on June 26. The third eye is also being monitored at the polling stations identified in the Mander assembly by-election. CCTV cameras have been installed at these polling stations and women personnel have also been deployed in view of the security. One CCTV camera has been installed inside the polling station and the other CCTV camera outside the polling station.
