Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2022: Voting for the first phase under the three-tier Panchayati Raj system in Jharkhand has concluded today. Voting for the first phase of Panchayat elections was held from 7 am to 3 pm today. In the first phase, voting was held in 1127 gram panchayats of 72 blocks of 21 districts of the state. Today, under the three-tier panchayat elections, voting was done in 9,819 seats in the first phase. According to the last update, 68.15 percent voting took place in 72 blocks of 21 districts. The result will come on these seats on May 17.
Highest polling in Deoghar
Let us inform that Deoghar recorded the highest voter turnout of 76 percent, while Lohardaga recorded the lowest 61.65 percent vote. Polling was completely peaceful in 1,117 panchayats in 72 blocks of 21 districts. Barring sporadic incidents at a few places, no rigging has come to the fore. In fact, in the first phase, elections were to be held for 16,757 posts, which included 14,079 panchayat members, 1,127 mukhiyas, 1,405 panchayat samiti members and 146 zilla parishad members. In this, more than 52 lakh voters including 25 lakh women can exercise their franchise. The fate of 30,221 candidates will be decided in the three-tier panchayat elections today.

No untoward incident happened anywhere
In the first phase, a total of 6,231 candidates were declared winners unopposed due to withdrawal and rejection of nomination papers, among other reasons, officials said. So now elections were held for 9,819 posts. In which 7,303 panchayat members, 1,117 mukhiyas, 1,256 panchayat samiti members and 143 zilla parishad members are elected. A total of 14,079 polling stations were set up for the first phase. Of these, 5,704 polling stations were declared sensitive, while 5,450 were very sensitive. It is a matter of relief that no untoward incident has been reported anywhere in the first phase.
