Former England captain Joe Root has got the benefit of his excellent performance. Joe Root has become the number one batsman in the ICC Test rankings, overtaking Australian star batsman Labuschagne.

Joe Root scored 176 runs in the second test and now he has 897 points in the ICC rankings. However, Joe Root has also achieved 917 points in the first ICC rankings. Labuschagne has lost one place and has now reached number two with 892 points.

Steve Smith remains at the third position with 845 points. Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam continues to dominate and is in fourth place with 815 points. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is at the fifth position with 798 points.
