The deceased officers were operating several missile production projects
The news agency Reuters quoted the Central News Agency as saying that the deputy head of the research and development unit of the Taiwan Defense Ministry was found dead in a hotel room on Saturday morning. Ou Yang Li-hsing, deputy head of the military-owned National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, was found dead in a hotel room in southern Taiwan early Saturday morning, according to CNA. The report said that the cause of death of the officer is being ascertained. O Yang was on a business trip to the southern county of Pingtung. He assumed the position earlier this year to oversee several missile production projects.
Taiwan has increased missile production in view of China’s aggressive behavior. Taiwan’s military-owned organization has more than doubled annual missile production capacity to close to 500.
