However, Sable soon lost more than 15 kg and started running again. It is in the year 2017, when during a race, Army coach Amrish Kumar noticed the intensity of the sable. After which he advised Sable to run in the steeplechase class.

Sable breaks national record for second time

However, Sable’s power was first shown at the national level in the Federation Cup of the year 2019, which was held in Patiala. In the Federation Cup, Sable broke the national record for the second time with a time of 8:28.94, which was almost a second faster than his previous record. What was it then… Sable got a ticket for the IAAF World Championship to be held in Doha. After which he became the first Indian men’s steeplechase since Dina Ram in 1991 to run at the World Championships. In fact, in the 2019 Asian Athletics Championships held in Doha, Avinash Sable also won the silver medal. This was Sable’s first medal at the international level.
