Operation Lotus: After the political earthquake in Maharashtra, BJP’s Operation Lotus has once again come into the limelight. Here Shivsena minister Eknath Shinde has come down on the rebellion and is camping with many MLAs in Guwahati. It is being discussed whether Operation Lotus has been started in Maharashtra or not. Opposition parties have been accusing BJP that it has formed government in many states under Operation Lotus. So let’s know from where it started, when and where it was used to form the government.

Actually it is believed that one party tries to attract the MLAs of other party by luring them. If this is possible, then the power of the ruling party in the assembly is reduced and the equations change. In such a situation, the way for the party sitting in the opposition to return to power is opened.

Operation Lotus first year 2004 I came into the limelight when BJP tried to topple Dharam Singh’s government in Karnataka. Then it was the opposition who named it Operation Lotus. Then it was widely publicized through the media. year after 2008 In this operation, BJP formed the government in Karnataka. It is said that Operation Lotus started from here.

It happened in the year 2004, when this name first came to the fore, but after the formation of the government at the center of BJP in the year 2014, Operation Lotus was heavily used and the governments of the states were shaken one after the other. Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Uttarakhand are some of the states where BJP either fed its lotus or tried its best and could not succeed. So let’s know what happened in these states.

First of all, let’s talk about Maharashtra where Operation Lotus is being discussed at this time.

In the assembly elections held in Maharashtra, BJP emerged as the single largest party. After the rift with Shiv Sena, she could not save her government and under the leadership of Shiv Sena, the Mahaghadi alliance formed the government. Here BJP tried hard to form the government but could not succeed. But recently after the elections of Rajya Sabha and MLC, BJP has become active once again and efforts are on to form the government again here. That is why it is being said here that BJP’s Operation Lotus has become active again. Opposition parties are making such allegations.

It is a matter of the year 2018 that in the assembly elections held in Karnataka, BJP emerged as the single largest party but could not fulfill the dream of forming the government. At that time, JDS and Congress accused BJP of breaking their MLAs. A year after the allegations were leveled, several MLAs of these two parties resigned together, which led to the fall of Kumaraswamy’s government. Taking advantage of this opportunity, BJP formed its government in Karnataka. After this, the opposition accused the BJP of running Operation Lotus.

Madhya Pradesh

Something similar happened in Madhya Pradesh in the year 2018. After 15 years in the assembly elections held here, the Congress got a chance to come back to power and Kamal Nath became the Chief Minister. After this the Congress had to face the rebellion of Jyotiraditya Scindia. BJP took advantage of this thing and under Operation Lotus pulled 22 MLAs of Scindia Group to its side. The Congress government fell and the BJP got a chance to form the government.

In the year 2017, the Congress emerged as the single largest party in the assembly elections. Congress won 28 seats while BJP 21. Tax government was formed.

In the year 2017 itself, the Congress became the largest party in Goa too, but here again the Congress failed to form the government. Here too BJP was accused of Operation Lotus and 10 Congress MLAs simultaneously submitted their resignation to the Governor and BJP returned to power.

Allegations also made in Rajasthan

Since the formation of the government in Rajasthan, the conflict between Pilot and Gehlot has come to the fore several times in the public forum. On the lines of Madhya Pradesh, there were many attempts to take advantage of Sachin Pilot’s displeasure in Rajasthan, but these efforts did not succeed. In a political development, Sachin Pilot reached Delhi with his 30 MLAs due to displeasure with the party. BJP wanted to take advantage of the opportunity, but learning from the incident in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress high command persuaded Sachin Pilot without delay and removed his displeasure, due to which BJP could not form the government in Rajasthan. Here the ruling party claimed that BJP’s Operation Kamal failed.

In 2016, the Congress government in Uttarakhand was embroiled in a rebellion of nine MLAs. Against these MLAs, the Speaker disqualified the Assembly. After this, the Congress government was dismissed and President’s rule was imposed in Uttarakhand. At that time, the Congress had accused the BJP of being behind the rebellion. The rebel MLAs later joined the BJP.

Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh too, there was a change in power in 2016 after Congress MLAs moved to the BJP-led alliance. In this 42 Congress MLAs had joined the BJP-led coalition People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA).
