Maharashtra News: The Maharashtra State Minority Development Department has commissioned the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to conduct a study on the social, economic and educational development of the Muslim community in 56 cities in the state, Where Muslim population is substantial. In a government proposal, the department earmarked Rs 33 lakh for the project. According to the government’s proposal, the study will analyze the social, educational and economic condition of the Muslim community. It will also study the impact of the state’s education, health, employment, housing, credit access and infrastructure policies on the community. This will be the first statewide study on the Muslim community after the Mahmud-ur-Rahman committee.
