Mumbai CNG-PNG Price Hike: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has once again announced an increase in the retail prices of CNG in Mumbai. This time the price of CNG has been increased by Rs 4 per kg. Along with this, the price of piped natural gas (PNG) has been increased by Rs 3 per standard cubic meter (per unit). The gas distributor company said that the reason for the continuous increase in prices is the rise in gas prices and the fall in the rupee.
The company is actually buying gas from the foreign market to meet the shortfall in domestic gas allocation. With this increase, the price of CNG in Mumbai and its surrounding areas has increased by Rs 4 to Rs 80 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 3 to Rs 48.50 per unit.
