Mumbai Air Pollution: Pollution level was low in Mumbai on Tuesday and the Air Quality Index was recorded at 37 in the city, which comes in the good category. On Monday, the city recorded the best AQI of the year at 28. For the first time this week, both Monday and Tuesday have been among the cleanest air days for Mumbai since it began recording pollution levels in 2015. At the same time, the lowest air pollution levels have also been recorded in these two days. Today on Wednesday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Mumbai is 33, which comes in the good category.

Mumbai records clean air every year between June and August, during the monsoons, with high wind speeds. Monsoon started in Mumbai from June 11 and after the first rain, the weather in Mumbai has been seen cold and clear. Meanwhile, a drop in air pollution has also been observed due to rain. The city of Mumbai, which generally sees air quality levels above 50, also recorded a drop in air pollution due to strong winds during the rains.

Pollution levels drop in Mumbai, air quality likely to remain ‘good’ for 2 days. If the AQI is recorded between 0 and 50 in the Air Quality Index, then it comes in the good category. AQI between 51 to 100 marks is considered as satisfactory category and 101 to 200 is considered as moderate category. An AQI between 201 to 300 is considered poor, 301 to 400 is very poor and 401 to 500 is ‘severe’. Whereas an AQI above 500 falls in the serious plus category.
