Former Union Minister Pandit Sukh Ram Passes Away: Former Union Communications Minister Pandit Sukh Ram has passed away. This information was given by his grandson. Sukhram was 95 years old and had a heart attack on Monday. His condition was critical at that time. In such a situation, he was shifted to the ventilator in AIIMS, Delhi. Last Saturday, he was brought to Delhi AIIMS by helicopter due to deteriorating health.

Sukhram’s grandson Ashray Sharma posted on Facebook late on Tuesday, saying, “Goodbye Dadaji, now the phone will never ring.”

Sukhram had a brain stroke in Manali on May 4, after which he was admitted to a hospital in Mandi. On Saturday, he was admitted to AIIMS for better treatment. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had provided a government helicopter on May 7 to send him to Delhi.

Served as Minister of Communications and Information Technology from 1993 to 1996

Pandit Sukhram served as the Minister of Communications and Information Technology from 1993 to 1996. He was a member of the Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh and won the assembly elections five times and the Lok Sabha elections thrice. He was sentenced to five years in prison for corruption in 2011, when he was the Union Telecom Minister in 1996.
