PIB Fact Check: The Central Government on Wednesday told the reality of the video and message going viral on social media. The government said that no instruction has been given to the ration shop owners not to give ration to the people for not buying the national flag. In this case, action has also been taken against a ration shop owner. Let us tell you that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that in lieu of giving ration to the poor, Rs 20 is being extorted in the name of the tricolor.

He also shared a video in which some ration card holders can be seen complaining that they are being forced to buy the tricolor for Rs 20. Regarding this video, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) told the truth and tweeted, “No such instruction has been given by the Government of India. About 80 crore people are getting ration every month without any hindrance. The license of a ration shop has been suspended for violating the order of the government and misrepresenting facts.

Rahul Gandhi accused by sharing the viral video

A government spokesperson said that after verifying the video, the Union Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs through the state government found that the ration card holder was from Dadupur village in Haryana’s Karnal district. The owner of the concerned ration shop has misrepresented the facts.

Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that instead of giving ration to the poor, Rs 20 is being extorted in the name of the tricolor, which is an attack on the national flag and the self-respect of the poor, by the BJP government. Sharing a video, he said in a Facebook post, “The tricolor is our pride, it resides in every heart. Nationalism can never be sold, it is very shameful that instead of giving ration, 20 rupees are being extorted from the poor in the name of tricolor.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP government is attacking the self-respect of the poor of our country along with the tricolor. In the video he shared, some ration card holders can be seen complaining that they are being forced to buy the tricolor for Rs 20.

Varun Gandhi shared the video

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi also shared the video on Wednesday and alleged that the government was forcing ration card holders to buy the tricolor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the countrymen to display the tricolor in their homes between August 13 and August 15, under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

Sharing a video, Gandhi, MP from Pilibhit, tweeted, “It will be unfortunate if the celebration of the 75th anniversary of independence becomes a burden on the poor. Ration card holders are either being forced to buy the tricolor or their share of ration is being deducted in return. Is.”

It is noteworthy that Varun Gandhi has been criticizing the policies of the central government for some time on various issues including unemployment, economy and agriculture.
