DGCA Strict Action Against Pilot: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered removal of a pilot from flight duty after he was found positive in a drugs test. A senior DGCA official said that a pilot of a major airline was drug tested as per CAR Section 5 Series F Part V in Delhi. He said, ‘He has been found positive in the investigation report received on 23 August. After this he has been removed from flight duty.

Action after being found positive in drugs test

On 22 August, an air traffic controller at Delhi airport was found positive for narcotics during a random testing process, the report of which came on 23 August and action has been taken after the pilot’s test report was found positive.

Earlier on August 21, the DGCA had ordered the removal of an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) officer after he was found positive for a psychoactive substance on Sunday. A senior DGCA official had told that an officer of ATC Delhi was found under the influence of psychoactive substance. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Medical reports have confirmed that he was under the influence of a psychoactive substance, following which he has been immediately removed from duty.

DGCA has issued guidelines

As per the DGCA guidelines, aviation workers will be tested for psychoactive substances such as amphetamines, cannabis, cocaine, opiates, barbiturates and benzodiazepines and any positive test will have to be reported to the DGCA within 24 hours. As per the Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR), if the confirmatory drug test result is positive for the first time, the concerned personnel will be sent to the de-addiction center by the concerned organization for de-addiction and rehabilitation.

If the test report of the same worker comes positive for the second time, then his license will be suspended for a period of three years and if this guideline is violated for the third time, the license of the worker will be canceled after being found positive. May go.
