PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Vanijya Bhawan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new campus of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Vanijya Bhawan. Along with this, he also launched the NIRYAT portal. On this occasion, PM Modi said that National Import-Export Record for annual analysis of trade, NIRYAT portal has been launched by the government to provide important and real data to all stakeholders.
NIRYAT has been pegged as a one-stop platform for stakeholders by the Central Government for easy access to important information related to India’s foreign trade. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was also present during the program.
Launch of Vidyut Bhawan and NIRYAT Portal
The Prime Minister, while inaugurating the Vyagya Bhawan and launching the NIRYAT portal in New Delhi, said that the government has been working towards ensuring citizen-centric governance for the last eight years. Today we have taken another important step in this direction. Today the country is getting the gift of a new and modern commercial building and NIRYAT portal.

Improvement in Global Innovation Index – PM
Prime Minister Modi further said that the commercial building is also a sign of our achievements in the field of commerce during this period. He said that I remember that at the time of foundation stone I had emphasized on the need for innovation and improvement in the Global Innovation Index. We are ranked 46th in the Global Innovation Index and it is continuously improving. Both of these speak of positive changes in our governance related to trade and commerce and our aspiration for a self-reliant India.
Emphasis on ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign
PM Narendra Modi said that the central government’s emphasis on local products through the ‘Vocal for Local Campaign’, ‘One District, One Product’ scheme has also helped a lot in increasing exports. PM Modi said that in the last 8 years, India has continuously tried to increase exports as well as achieve the goals related to it. Today, what every ministry of the government is giving on increasing exports.
