PM Pays Tribute: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to Nobel laureate world poet Rabindra Nath Tagore on his birth anniversary and said he continues to inspire millions of people with his thoughts and actions even today. The Prime Minister also paid tributes to freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale and great warrior Maharana Pratap. Gokhale and Maharana Pratap were also born on this day.

Remembering Tagore, who was born in West Bengal in the year 1861, Modi tweeted, “I bow to Gurudev Tagore on his birth anniversary. He continues to inspire millions of people with his thoughts and actions. He taught us to be proud of our country, our culture and our values. He laid emphasis on education, study and social empowerment. We are committed to making the India of his dreams.
