UP News: The Basic Education Department has started tightening the noose on the schools operating without recognition in Pratapgarh. Basic Education Officer (BSA) Bhupendra Singh has issued notices to 45 schools and has given an ultimatum of action. They have been told to follow the rules and get recognition or to close the school.
There are 700 private schools operating in Pratapgarh.
As soon as the academic session starts, there is a competition from city to village to open new schools. People start running schools from houses, shops to huts, regardless of standard, recognition or affiliation. Less educated unemployed youth are posted as teachers for very less money. Not only this, even after registering the coaching, people are running the school and playing with the future of the youngsters. Now BSA’s eyes have turned on illegal schools operated in this way, there are about 700 private schools operating in the district, in which the number of unrecognized schools is very high. However, its figures are not available with the department.

Legal action will be taken against schools running without recognition
BSA Bhupendra Singh said that till now more than 45 schools have been found to be operating illegally without recognition. Notice has been issued to all in this sequence. They have been told to meet the standards and get accreditation or close the school. If this notice is not followed, legal action will be taken against them.
