Mithali Raj Retirement: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country on Sunday through Mann Ki Baat program. In his address, he discussed many issues including emergency, youth, monsoon. During the program, PM Modi also remembered Mithali Raj, former captain of the Indian cricket team. Mithali Raj, who made her debut in Women’s ODIs in 1999, put a complete stop to her 23-year international career on 8 June.

Mithali’s International Career
Mithali Raj played 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20 Internationals for India. During this, he scored 7805 runs in ODIs at an average of 50.68, 2364 runs in T20 Internationals at 37.52 and 699 runs in Tests. Mithali was also the captain of India for a long time. Mithali Raj is one of the few players who have scored a century in their first ODI match. In her debut match against Ireland in 1999, Mithali scored an unbeaten 114 runs.
