The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved an attractive recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces. This scheme is called ‘Agneepath’ and the youth selected under this scheme will be called Agniveer. Agneepath allows patriotic and motivated youth to serve in the armed forces for a period of four years. According to the Union Defense Ministry, the Agneepath scheme has been designed to enable the youth profile of the armed forces.
