Amritsar:  The Passenger Service Committee came out for a three-day inspection of 7 stations of Firozpur Division to take stock of the facilities provided to the passengers at the railway station. The 5-member Passengers Services Committee (PCSC)  First reached Amritsar railway station on Wednesday at 1.30 pm by Shatabdi train. The committee imposed a fine of one and a half lakh for irregularities in the train on which it was traveling.

PCSC imposed a fine of 1 lakh for the disorder found in the catering (tea is not served to the passengers after breakfast) while 50 thousand for getting the mess. The committee also got the samples of drinking water filled at the station and instructed to get their report called for in a week. On the other hand, a fine of 60 thousand rupees was imposed for irregularities on the foot stall built on platform number-1 of the station. There was no big RO and medical certificate of the worker and no GST attached with the bill was found. Whereas an official of the stall said that the employee whose medical fine was imposed is on training. Medical certificate can be issued only after working 20 days and this rule is of railways only.
