Rajkot Crime News: A special court in Rajkot has sentenced a convict of raping two minor girls to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Special Judge in Gondal DR. Bhat on Tuesday found the accused Salikram Moria guilty under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the ‘Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses’ (POCSO) Act. Public Prosecutor Ghanshyam Dobria said the crime was detected on May 20 at Sadakpipliya village in Gondal taluka of the district. He said that Moria had seduced and raped two girls, aged three years and five years.

Public prosecutor Ghanshyam Dobria said that on May 20, the crime was reported in Sadakpipliya village of Gondal taluka of the district. Moria had sexually abused three and five-year-old girls by luring them. He said that both the girls were playing alone near their homes in the village. Dobria said that the family members had lodged a complaint against the accused. The incident was investigated by the Investigation Unit of Crime Against Women in Gondal city and the accused was arrested within five days.

Court gave its verdict after 45 days
He told that when the family members of the girls found blood stains on their clothes, they came to know about the assault and an FIR was lodged. Dobria said that a charge sheet was filed against the accused under sections 376 of the IPC and sections 4 and 12 (sexual harassment) of the POCSO Act. The special POCSO court has given its verdict within 45 days of the incident taking into account the oral and documentary evidence produced by the prosecution.
