Roorkee Gang Rape: The Uttarakhand Police finally arrested the accused of gang-raping a six-year-old girl and her mother in a moving car after six days. Police sources said on Thursday that five accused involved in the gang rape have been arrested. Of the five arrested accused, two belong to the Bharatiya Kisan Union. Let us tell you that on the intervening night of 24-25 June this month, when the incident of gang-rape with a six-year-old girl and her mother happened, there was a stir in the police department. The victim woman had taken the name of a young man named Sonu in the interrogation. Apart from this, the police had no clue.
Several teams were deployed for investigation
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Yogendra Singh Rawat said that a team of Special Operations Team (SOG) along with four different teams was deployed to investigate the incident of gang rape. He told that an Alto car was detected from a CCTV footage acquired by the police and on the basis of this, the police investigated the entire incident. According to the police, the woman was gang-raped by two different groups, who did not know each other.

The DIG said that a young man named Mehak Singh alias Sonu first made the woman and her child sit on his bike on the pretext of leaving Roorkee and raped the woman by fraudulently taking her to a deserted area. He further told that during this time an Alto car came there, in which four youths were sitting and there was a flag on the car. According to the DIG, these youths had forcibly taken the woman and her child in their car and fled on the road, leaving the woman and her six-year-old girl child as a victim of their lust.

At the same time, the police team arrested Mehak Singh alias Sonu, besides the car riders Rajiv alias Vicky Tomar and Subodh (both residents of Muzaffarnagar) and Golu Tejian and Jagdish Lal (Shaldupur, Saharanpur) in the gang rape case. The arrested Rajiv alias Vicky Tomar is the general secretary of the unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait faction) of Muzaffarnagar mandal, while his partner Subodh is also a member of BKU. DIG Yogendra Singh Rawat has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 to the team that uncovered the gang rape case.
