MP Flood: The body of a revenue officer posted in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh was found in Parvati river in Sheopur district. Police said that a week ago on August 15, while returning from a party, Tehsildar Narendra Singh Thakur (45) and Patwari Mahendra Singh Rajak were washed away in the raging Siwan river in Sehore district. Inspector Rajesh Sharma, in-charge of Baroda police station, said on Thursday that Thakur’s body was found on August 21 in the Parvati river of Baroda police station area in Sheopur district, about 350 km away. While Rajak’s body was found on the same day at some distance from the river, Thakur’s body could not be traced since then.

Relatives reached Sheopur to collect the dead body

He said that the family members have identified the body on Wednesday, nine days after the incident. The police buried Thakur’s body at the designated place in the presence of Naib Tehsildar Bharat Nayak and information was lodged on various media. After getting the information, the family members of Thakur reached Sheopur and contacted the district police.

Son and daughter identify dead body

The body was retrieved on Wednesday, the official said. Thakur’s son and daughter identified the deceased as their father. After this, after the necessary formalities, the body was handed over to Thakur’s family members for last rites. The officer said the Sheopur police will send the case diary to the Mandi police station in Sehore for further investigation as a missing report was lodged there.
