The special session of the Delhi Assembly is going to be held on Friday. This information was given by the assembly on Wednesday. This session has been called in the midst of a political uproar over the action of central investigative agencies in connection with the Excise Policy of the Delhi government. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of wooing its MLAs. According to the document released by the Vidhan Sabha, this session will start from 11 am on August 26.
What allegations have you made on BJP?
Earlier on Wednesday, AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) attempt to topple his government is a serious issue. The matter was also discussed in the meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of AAP held on Wednesday evening. The committee meeting held at Kejriwal’s residence condemned the BJP’s alleged attempts to woo the MLAs. AAP leaders have alleged that the BJP had offered money to four MLAs to leave the party.
CBI raid on Manish Sisodia’s residence
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and others after taking cognizance of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR registered in connection with the probe into alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy. The CBI had on August 19 raided Sisodia in Delhi, the residences of former Delhi Excise Commissioner A Gopi Krishna and 19 other places in seven states and union territories in connection with the 2021-22 excise policy case. Sisodia holds several portfolios including products and education. The ED will probe whether there were irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy issued in November last year.
