Pranay Shekhar Ghosh, a resident of Brahm Road in Ambikapur city, had lodged a report at the Kotwali police station. The report said that between 26 April 2022 to 4 May 2022, an unknown mobile holder had cheated a total of Rs 13 lakh 81 thousand 800 online in the name of opening the showroom of Lenskart. Police station Ambikapur started investigation by registering a case against unknown accused under sections 420, 34, 66D IT Act. At the beginning of the investigation, information about various bank accounts, wallets, payment gateways, apps, websites, fake documents used by the accused was collected. By adopting innovative research methods, sufficient technical evidence was collected against the accused who had cheated the amount and withdrew. After this, a joint team of District Cyber ​​Cell and Police Station Ambikapur was formed. An “Operation Cyber ​​Clean” team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Kalim Khan and Sub-Inspector Rupesh Narang. The team took action under the information received from all technical aspects.

Despite protests against the Agneepath scheme in Bihar and disruption of mobile, internet services in 14 states, the police team camped for 7 days in Nalanda, Deoghar, Kolkata. The police team was successful in catching the absconding from the house by chasing them for about 500 km wearing local costumes. Ayush Raj father Vijay Kumar and Amarjeet Kumar father Lalo Prasad have been arrested in the case.

Cash 2 lakh 52 thousand, computer set, laptop, 15 nos mobile, ATM card, bank passbook, lamination machine, webcam used in the incident have been recovered from the possession of the accused.

  • Do not pay the amount only on the basis of mobile phone conversations
  • Do not pay the amount by coming in any promotional, inducement, misleading advertisement
