Gujarat Crime Branch has detained activist Teesta Setalvad and former Gujarat IPS officer RB Sreekumar on Saturday following the Supreme Court’s decision in the 2002 Gujarat riots case. Setalvad was detained from his Mumbai home while Sreekumar was detained from Gandhinagar. After the decision of the Supreme Court, a case was registered against Teesta Setalvad, Sanjeev Bhat and RB Sri Kumar in Ahmedabad Crime Branch.
Counting of votes will be held today for by-elections to three Lok Sabha and seven assembly seats in six states of the country. Counting of votes will start at 8 am. After the demolition of master mind Javed Pump’s house in the case of violence after Friday prayers in Sangam city of Prayagraj, the development authority has now pasted the notice at the house of Shah Alam, the district president of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party MIM.
